This small and forgotten piece of history was once a vital thoroughfare for DeLand’s downtown. We have gone to great measures to ensure we are creating a community the residents of DeLand will be proud of, including honoring the architectural period of the early 1900s while infusing timeless modern design elements and improved building methods. Coastline Lofts is named after railroad operator Seaboard Coastline Railroad which merged with Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. The lofts are located at the corner of Florida Avenue and W. Ohio Avenue, one block from Stetson University and two blocks from historic downtown DeLand. “Own less. Live more” is the motto for this development. The floor plans range from 785 sq ft to 1,200 sq ft, and each is designed as true loft spaces—open and creative. The Coastline Lofts are ideal for active people who want to live, work, and play downtown. This much-needed development will set the precedence for future artist lofts and small upscale loft living in DeLand. The lofts will use Xeriscaped and native-landscaping to reduce the need for irrigation and lower ongoing maintenance costs for the homeowners. The lofts will be governed by a holistic (collaborative law) approach to a Home Owners Association (HOA), including a conflict resolution process that addresses much of the risk associated with living in a condo community. The lofts will also have creative touches such as a Zen rock garden, water fountains, and an art mural wall.

The H-House Mission is to build affordable and functional multigenerational “flex-homes“ designed to empower people throughout the different stages of their particular life cycle, be that single, coupled, marriage, children, income-generating, elder care, and aging-in-place. This innovative home is designed modularly so the owners can choose modules based on their unique needs as an individual or a family. Working within the guidelines of local and state regulations, insurance requirements, financing and underwriting criteria, we strive to ensure that every H-House is as environmentally conscious, energy efficient, comfortable, modern, scalable, and locally resourced as possible. We seek to improve the design of the H-House every year.
